A 13-year-old boy has been arrested in reference to a fail-to-stop e-bike crash with a pregnant girl whose child was born in hospital afterwards and stays in a critical situation. The crash occurred in Herbert Avenue, Poole, near the junction with Manor Avenue, at about 3.50pm on January 26.
The pregnant girl, aged in her 30s, was taken to hospital for therapy the place her child was born. A Dorset Police spokesman stated: “The pedestrian, a pregnant girl aged in her 30s, attended hospital for therapy. Her child, who has since been born, stays in hospital in a critical situation.
“Following inquiries, a 13-year-old boy from Poole has been arrested on suspicion of a driving offence. He stays in police custody at the moment.”
Interesting for witnesses to come back ahead, Sergeant Dan Yates, of the roads policing crew, stated: “Our investigation is continuous and now we have now made an arrest as a part of our inquiries.
“I want to thank the general public who got here ahead and supplied data to assist with our investigation.
“We’re nonetheless interesting for anybody with data in relation to this incident, who has not already spoken to police, to please get in contact.”
Describing the incident, the drive spokesman stated: “Officers investigating a street site visitors collision in Poole during which a pregnant girl was taken to hospital have arrested a teenage boy.
“At round 3.50pm on Monday 26 January 2026 a collision occurred involving an e-bike and a pedestrian in Herbert Avenue, close to to the junction with Manor Avenue.
“It was reported the rider of the e-bike didn’t cease on the scene.”
