Eight folks have been left injured, seven of whom have been taken to hospital, following a horror head-on collision in Northumberland. The crash occurred close to Purdey Lodge on Saturday, February 21. The incident compelled the closure for a number of hours of a stretch of the A1, between B1340 (Denwick) and the A1167 (Berwick Upon Tweed).
Among the many seven folks rushed to hospital, two sustained critical head and leg accidents, North East Ambulance Service, which attended the scene, mentioned. A spokesperson for the service mentioned: “We attended a head-on street site visitors collision between two automobiles on the A1 between Alnwick and Belford in Northumberland yesterday (21 Feb).”
The service was first alerted to the incident at roughly 7.30pm. The spokesperson added, as reported by Chronicle Reside: “After receiving the primary name at 7.30pm we dispatched 4 ambulance crews, a specialist paramedic, a medical staff chief and one Hazardous Space Response Workforce (HART) crew.
“We handled eight sufferers in whole; two with critical accidents to move and leg and an additional six with minor accidents.
“Seven sufferers have been taken to the Northumbria Hospital in Cramlington and one to RVI in Newcastle.”
Northumbria Police additionally attended the scene, because the street remained closed for a number of hours, till Sunday morning.
