Boris Johnson’s response to the arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor sparked outrage with BBC viewers throughout a grilling from Laura Kuenssberg. The previous Conservative prime minister was branded “smug and entitled” by livid viewers after he predicted the scandal will “blow over”.

The previous Duke of York was arrested final week on suspicion of misconduct in public workplace, and later launched by police underneath investigation. He has continued to disclaim any allegations of wrongdoing. However Johnson’s angle to the scandal left a bitter style with BBC followers, who furiously took to social media to air their complaints.

On the programme, Johnson was requested: “What do you suppose the impact on the Royal Household will likely be, on these months of woe and scandal and stress on one in all its members?”

Another person mentioned: “Very flippant about all of it. Query is, why?”

And a 3rd echoed: “Johnson’s properly certified to advise the monarchy on find out how to survive and bounce again after lies and scandal after scandal.”
