A BBC star has make a heartbreaking announcement after showing on James Martin’s Saturday Kitchen. Jill Douglas made an look on the weekend present, after which took to Instagram to share the information of a tragic loss of life.
The 56-year-old sports activities presenter shared a snap of her and her mum collectively, as they loved some sunshine in a backyard. She emotionally penned: “We filmed this Saturday’s present earlier than my beautiful Mum died. She cherished to bake and prepare dinner and I loved speaking about her with James on this week’s programme, particularly her expertise for making scones! Mum had a beautiful life, she was a really particular girl and we’ll miss her enormously x @saturdayjamesmartin.” TV chef James was one of many first to share his help. He commented: “So sorry in your loss [loveheart emoji] sending you all our love.”

Fellow sports activities presenter Kirsty Gallacher added: “So sorry Jilly, sending you all a lot love and pondering of you.”
In the meantime a fan penned: “So sorry in your loss Jill – what a stunning picture of you along with your mum. Sending love x” And one other stated: “Ohhhh @jillydouglas I’m so so so sorry to listen to ur such unhappy information!!!! Sending you a lot love.”
Jill joined the BBC in 2003 as a number one presenter for rugby union, biking and varied sporting events, together with the Olympic Video games, and has remained a recognisable presence on the channel since, while additionally contributing to BT Sport and ITV.
She took on the position of CEO in 2017 via her friendship with Scottish rugby icon Doddie Weir, who handed away in November 2022 after being recognized with Motor Neurone Illness.
While she has since stepped down as CEO, Jill stays a patron of the charity.
