Hundreds of thousands of Brits are to get a pay rise because the minimal wage rises to £12.71 an hour. The Treasury confirmed after the Spring Assertion on Tuesday (March 3) that the Nationwide Residing Wage will improve from £12.21 to £12.71 for staff aged 21 or over from April 1.
The hike provides £1,040 to the common wage of a employee on the minimal wage working 40 hours per week, from £25,397 to £26,437. Staff aged 18-20 will see pay rise from £10 to £10.85 whereas 16-17 yr olds and apprentices can count on £8 per hour, up from £7.55.
