England legend was left penniless and homeless as he slept in grocery store automotive park

A former Arsenal and England defender was left penniless and homeless, and was photographed sleeping tough in a grocery store automotive park.

Former Arsenal and England star Kenny Sansom was as soon as photographed sleeping in a grocery store automotive park after being left destitute and homeless by his alcohol habit. Sansom, who captained the Gunners to a League Cup win in 1987 and earned 86 caps for the Three Lions, held the file for probably the most England appearances by a defender till Ashley Cole overtook him.

After his retirement in 1994, Sansom battled alcoholism and playing habit. On the time, a detailed pal of Sansom’s informed the Day by day Mail that he was at his “lowest level in years” and wanted to be sectioned for the sake of his psychological well being.

They reportedly stated: “He begins ingesting once more every time he struggles to take care of his ideas and emotions.

“He is aware of he wants assist and admits that however refuses to speak to a counsellor. Until he does, the drink goes to kill him.”

“I can get pleasure from my children and my grandkids. I can take them to soccer matches. I can take them wherever they need, after I need. It is as much as me. It is all I wish to do now. I really feel like I am their dad [whereas before] I used to be a drunk.

“As soon as I began ingesting, oh pricey, it was a nightmare. Drink drove me loopy. The extra I drunk, the extra I favored it. If I used to be sitting in a bar, I might drink six bottles of wine. It is bloody loopy.”
