Labour peer Ayesha Hazarika sparked fury after making a joke about grooming gangs on Occasions Radio. The 50-year-old hosts the station’s Weekend Drivetime present, discussing a variety of matters from politics to present affairs. On Sunday, Hazarika, who has made a number of appearances on Good Morning Britain, performed alongside after being known as a “groomer” by Occasions Radio presenter Stig Abell, joking that it might even warrant a judge-led enquiry into her.
“I am like an enabler,” Hazarika advised Abell. He shot again: “Yeah, you might be. A groomer!” Laughing, the political commentator replied: “A groomer! Oh my god. Simply because I am muslim. Cease it, truthfully.” Becoming a member of within the humour, Abell quipped: “Do not groom me! Do not groom me, Ayesha,” mocked Abell. Hazarika continued to snicker, including: “There will likely be an enquiry, a judge-led enquiry into me proper now.”
It’s terrible that these presenters see the Pakistani rape gangs, one of many greatest scandals in Britain, as one thing to mock.

Many seen the alternate as insensitive, notably in mild of ongoing issues surrounding grooming gangs in London.
Slamming Hazarika on-line, one fumed: “It’s terrible that these presenters see the Pakistani rape gangs, one of many greatest scandals in Britain, as one thing to mock. If the races had been reversed, Labour Peer Ayesha Hazarika wouldn’t dare snicker about it.”
One other posted: “@TimesRadio do you assume that it is applicable to mock kids who’ve been subjected to this on mass? I believe it is best to examine this.”
A 3rd echoed: “The truth that they’ll even joke about one thing like this reveals how repulsive and reprehensible they’re. Ayesha is an absolute shame.”
A fourth weighed in: “Omg, I can’t say what I need to say as a result of I’d be cancelled. What a F Disgusting B. & the fella laughing who the hell is he, he must be named & shamed too!”

One X consumer jumped to the defence of Hazarika, saying: “The one factor she is laughing at is folks such as you that immediately name each Muslim a gang rapist btw… by no means made any joke at a victims expense. Oh wait, she’s a brown girl laughing, cannot have that now can we?”
Final month, victims revealed how they had been kidnapped, raped and crushed by monsters working in London.
One survivor advised how an Asian described her as a “good, younger white woman” after attacking her. The Mayor of London was advised the “patterns” of abuse within the capital are “very comparable” to how women had been exploited in cities comparable to Rotherham, Telford, Oldham and Rochdale.
Khan remains to be dealing with rising criticism over his refusal to simply accept that grooming gangs function within the capital.
