Cordons are at present in place on Button Avenue, Mathew Avenue, Victoria Avenue and a part of Whitechapel. Massive sections of the Cavern Quarter have been sealed off by officers on Monday, April 6, with police tape additionally extending onto Whitechapel and alongside the HSBC financial institution.

Merseyside Police has now confirmed a person was arrested after reviews of a battle close to Clayton Sq. at round 4.45am, throughout which it was alleged one man threatened one other with a firearm. A 37-year-old man stays in custody on suspicion of possession of a firearm with no certificates. Police stated: “There isn’t a suggestion a firearm was used and there aren’t any reviews of any accidents.” The person is at present in custody and up to now, no firearm has been recovered and the investigation stays ongoing.
