Three youngsters have been arrested within the Derbion purchasing centre after CCTV operators contacted Derbyshire Police simply after 5.30pm on Tuesday.
They reported a younger man, dressed all in black and sporting a balaclava, had what they believed to be a small handgun. Armed officers have been dispatched to the scene because the weapon was handed between two different younger males, who positioned it of their waistbands, clearly in public view.
Earlier than the armed police arrived, native officers and Derbion safety detained the youngsters and later confirmed that it was an imitation firearm. They have been all arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm.
