Six extra folks have been charged with violent dysfunction after protests happened in Southampton on Tuesday following the homicide of Henry Nowak. It brings the whole variety of folks charged after the demonstration within the port metropolis to 11.
Kevin Reeves, 31, of Portswood Street, Southampton; Andrew Riddett, 38, of Seacombe Inexperienced, Southampton; Harry Varney, 34, of Briarswood, Southampton; Taylor Grundy, 22, of Pavillion Method, Gosport; and Dillon Crawford, 29, of Wilton Avenue, Southampton, had been charged with violent dysfunction, Hampshire Police stated on Saturday. Andrew Summerhayes, 38, of Banning Road, Romsey, was charged with violent dysfunction and two counts of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place, the power added.
All of them will seem at Southampton Magistrates’ Courtroom on Saturday morning.
The fees come after protests following the sentencing on Monday of Vickrum Digwa, 23, to life imprisonment to serve a minimal of 21 years for the homicide of 18-year-old Mr Nowak in December.
The protests happened after police body-worn video was launched exhibiting Mr Nowak being positioned in handcuffs after he had been stabbed by Digwa moments earlier than he turned unconscious and subsequently died.
Digwa claimed he had been the sufferer of a racial assault, whereas Mr Nowak was handcuffed by police who ignored his pleas that he couldn’t breathe as he lay dying.
The therapy of the 18-year-old triggered a political row, with the Prime Minister urging politicians to heed {the teenager}’s relations’ calls to not use the case “to trigger disturbances”.
