A 25-year-old man from South Wales who was residing in Vietnam was discovered lifeless in his lodge room in Ho Chi Minh Metropolis, an inquest has heard. Harleigh Jones, 25, from Pontypridd, had a mix of prescribed drugs in his system when he died, Monday’s transient listening to heard, in accordance with Wales On-line.

The inquest opening at Pontypridd Coroners Court docket on Monday heard that Mr Jones was discovered lifeless in his lodge room on June 12, 2025, and was subsequently repatriated to Wales. Dr Jason Shannon carried out the autopsy examination on the Royal Glamorgan Hospital and gave a provisional explanation for loss of life because the mixed results of gabapentin, pregabalin, olanzapine and benzodiazepines.

Coroner Graeme Hughes mentioned Mr Jones’ loss of life would wish a full inquest. 

He mentioned: “I’ve adequate cause to suspect that his loss of life is unnatural. Following the autopsy and toxicology stories it seems that medicine had been impacted in the reason for his loss of life.”

Mr Hughes ordered that an investigation into Mr Jones’ loss of life proceed and mentioned the case can be adjourned till it’s concluded.

Coroner Hughes ended the inquest opening by passing on his condolences to Mr Jones’ household and pals.

Harleigh is known to have been working in comms for APW, a property funding agency that’s headquartered in Dubai, on the time of his loss of life.

After Mr Jones was repatriated to South Wales, his funeral service befell in Williamstown. 

Mourners donated to the Welsh charity 2Wish, which works to help households who’ve misplaced a toddler.
