‘Religion chief’ discovered responsible of 9 counts of rape

A London man has been discovered responsible of 21 offences, together with 9 counts of rape, over a horrifying 11-year interval. Abdul Halim Khan, 54, of Previous Forde Highway, dedicated the offences between 2004 and 2015, throughout which period he abused his place as a revered religion chief inside the area people to abuse a number of ladies and ladies.

Khan pretended to have non secular powers to coerce and sexually abuse ladies as younger as 12, manipulating the victims and threatening to hurt their households.

He was convicted at Snaresbrook Crown Courtroom on Firday of 9 counts of rape, 4 counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual assault of a kid below 13, 5 counts of rape of a kid below 13, and one rely of assault by penetration.

Police first turned conscious of Khan’s offending in February 2018 when his youngest sufferer reported him to a trainer at her college. As a part of their investigation, officers interviewed over 50 witnesses and examined ten cellphones.

Detective Sergeant Sara Yems, who led the investigation, stated: “It reveals outstanding energy for anybody to report abuse, particularly when the abuser is believed to be a trusted determine.

“Whereas nothing will undo the hurt suffered by these ladies – yesterday’s conviction will hopefully provide a small measure of consolation. I’d prefer to thank the devoted group of Met officers who left no stone unturned of their pursuit of justice.

“We stay completely dedicated to tackling violence in opposition to ladies and ladies, concentrating on harmful offenders and eradicating them from London’s streets.”
