The Jail Service has issued a press release following the assault suffered by Ian Huntley in jail on Thursday morning. The Soham assassin is known to have been significantly injured in an ambush launched by one other inmate whereas at HMP Frankland. A Jail Service spokesperson mentioned: “A prisoner is receiving therapy after an incident at HMP Frankland on Thursday morning.
“It will be inappropriate to remark additional whereas police examine.” Police additionally commented on the incident, with a spokesman for Durham Constabulary including: “Police had been alerted to an assault which had taken place inside HMP Frankland in Durham this morning.

Huntley was reportedly knocked unconscious with a steel pole, The Solar, which first reported the incident, mentioned.
