Joey Barton has been instructed to pay Eniola Aluko greater than £300,000 in damages and authorized prices after he was sued for libel.
Former England footballer and pundit Ms Aluko introduced authorized motion in opposition to Barton over two posts he made in 2024 on social media website X.

Gervase de Wilde, for Ms Aluko, stated that within the two X posts Barton had wrongly claimed she had “cynically sought to use her standing as an alleged sufferer of racism and bullying”, and that she was a hypocrite.
Barton – who managed Fleetwood City and Bristol Rovers – didn’t attend the listening to, with Mr de Wilde telling the court docket that he “was arrested yesterday and is at the moment being held in custody”.

Mr Justice Lavender granted Barton seven days to ask to alter the order.
Ms Aluko attended the London court docket on Tuesday and instructed PA after the listening to: “I am glad it is the top.”
