Drivers on the M8 are going through visitors chaos this morning after an enormous stretch of the key UK motorway was closed, with a large metropolis centre in “gridlock”. In a single day works on the eastbound part between junctions 18 and 15 in Glasgow have overrun.
Visitors Scotland stated entry to the oute from junction 16 Craighall, junction 18 Charing Cross, and junction 19 Anderston will stay closed. No timeframe has been given for the reopening of the junctions. The chaos has led to prolonged tailbacks across the Cowcaddens, Kingston Bridge and Kinning Park areas. Drivers have now taken to social media to vent their anger and frustration, with one claiming the “complete of Glasgow metropolis centre was in gridlock” this morning.
