Writing in an extract from his upcoming e book William & Catherine: The Intimate Inside Story, the Every day Mirror’s Royal Editor, Russell Myers, explains that Prince William and Princess Catherine had been left “wounded” by Harry and Meghan’s assertions made of their interview with Oprah Winfrey, particularly their claims of being “trapped” within the Royal Household and the disclosure of a personal textual content change.
Myers writes: “Within the aftermath of Harry and Meghan’s Oprah interview, the Sussexes’ model of how the household and the establishment had conspired towards them, had created a siege mentality within the palace. Harry’s presence on the funeral simply ensured these emotions stayed recent in everybody’s minds.”
