Princess Donata of Prussia has died aged 73 following a “lengthy sickness”, it has been introduced. The princess, who was the great-grandaughter of Wilhelm II, the final German Emperor, was thought of one of many prime equestrian journalists.
The Home of Hohenzollern, Germany’s former Royal Household, has issued a press release expressing its “deep sorrow” over the information. They stated: “With deep sorrow, the Home of Hohenzollern bids farewell to Princess Donata of Prussia (1952–2026).
“After a protracted sickness, she handed away on 25 February on the age of 73. She was a great-granddaughter of the final German Emperor, Wilhelm II, and the daughter of Wilhelm Karl, Prince of Prussia, Herrenmeister (Grasp of the Knights) of the Order of St John.”
They added: “Professionally, she pursued an unbiased path: for many years, she formed journalism within the discipline of equestrian sport. Her specific focus was on eventing, worldwide breeding – particularly Holsteiner horses – in addition to main championships.”
Princess Donata was born in Bonn on December 24, 1952, and has two youthful brothers. She spent her remaining months in Salzhausen, a municipality in Decrease Saxony. She was also called the Duchess of Oldenburg.
The princess liked horses since childhood and competed within the German Junior Dressage Championships. She moved on to masking the game as a journalist, masking the Olympic Video games, World and European Championships.
