A stretch of the M5 has been closed in each instructions on account of a “welfare-related incident”, with emergency companies on the scene. The incident is ongoing between junction 18 (Avonmouth) and junction 19 (Portbury), with drivers are warned of three miles of visitors.
Motorway digital camera footage reveals automobiles at a standstill on the motorway. Nationwide Highways South West wrote on X: “The #M5 is blocked in each instructions between J18 #Avonmouth and J19 #Portbury. This on account of an @ASPRoadSafety led incident. Delays constructing, approx. 3 miles of congestion southbound and a pair of miles northbound. Updates to comply with quickly.
