Toronto explosion: Sky turns orange after blast ‘like a nuke’ close to Downsview Airport

A number of folks took to social media to report the unknown blast.

Locals in Toronto, Canada have been left spooked after an explosion rocked the town. Video footage shared on-line within the early hours of Friday exhibits the aftermath of the occasion, which seems to have taken place close to Downsview Airport, a disused navy airport. Sharing one other picture on-line, one person stated: “Barely caught this explosion in Toronto, made a complete Twitter account to ask what’s occurring.”

A second stated: “Explosion aftermath in Toronto round downsview airport.” A 3rd added: “Did anybody see that explosion that lit up the sky in North York??? It was so vivid and massive that my buddy thought it was a nuke.”

In response to stories the explosion turned the sky organe with the intense flash being seen and felt ‘in many of the Higher Toronto space’.

Locals thought explosion was 'thunder' then noticed 'fireball'

Many locals have reacted to the explosion on-line, saying they noticed it from their ‘backyards’. One Canadian posted on X: “”’m unsure if it was thunder or not.”

One other added: “I noticed the fireball go up.”
